Ovnev, a one-man Black Metal band from Texas that's masterminded by a friend of mine West, just recently released his first LP titled Cycle of Survival on Naturmacht Productions on November 26th. The album is a concept album that tells the story of a man who heads into the wilderness in an attempt to live off of the land. He finds shelter in an abandoned cabin and ends up making the terrible decision to hunt a boar, which leads him to a wolves den. He's then torn to shreds and becomes a part of the surrounding mountains forever. The sound can be described as a a bit of a melodic approach to traditional Atmospheric Black Metal from the states, with some melodic riffs and incredible acoustic passages perfectly blended with the more traditional tremolo picked onslaughts Black Metal is known for. Highly recommended for fans of Wolves in the Throne Room, Skagos, Agalloch, etc
