5.0 classic | Henderson | September 27th 16 | Nick's best and most cohesive work to date, a true milestone for guitar music. There are no unnecessary and overblown guitar solos (though there's its fair share of mindblowing moments, of course), every note and chord change serves its purpose and paints a story in a way that very few musicians achieve, even less without words. The piano work by Luke Martin and the rythm section composed by Bryan Beller and Gavin Harrison are simply stellar, as if Nick's wizardry and tasteful playing wasn't enough. Without a doubt the best instrumental guitar-centric album I've heard in a decade, since Guthrie Govan's "Erotic Cakes". This is the work that will certify Nick Johnston as the most promising guitarist of this generation: guitar fans behold, it doesn't get much better than this.

4.5 superb | Antonius | April 22nd 19 | Although I am not a die-hard fan of instrumental albums, Remarkably Human is a stellar album. It is captivating from the first note until the last and in its entirety is a fine piece of coherent music. Johhnston manages to keep a fine balance between technical solos and simple guitar melodies which along with the keyboard parts highlight his remarkable composition skills. This needs to be listened from end to end.
