3.5 great | Toondude | August 1st 17 | It took a long time, but this record has grown on me a lot since this came out. What I took as a cop out of mid-era Thrice sound, I realized that this is their most mature record. The vocal performances are what makes this, especially Steven's clean vocals. While I still like the other two records more, I can safely say that this is a great record.

2.5 average | Durrzo | November 5th 16 | This is a letdown. I was bored before it ended, the songs run together. There is nothing going on the the guitar department. The full focus is on the vocals, and while they have always been the strong-point of this band, they aren't strong enough to carry an entire album's worth of dull samey sounding material.rTheir debut remains their strongest release.

4.5 superb | Cardiac112 | December 19th 17 | May change my rating to 5.0 if 2 of the 13 songs grow on me a bit more. Excellent album. I've had it on repeat for a week and it's only getting better.

2.5 average | Brett W | November 6th 16 | overall it is good, but i have to give it an average score because there are just no memorable parts aside from
that breakdown in the Aftermath. That was dope. 2.7/5

3.5 great | SteakByrnes | November 6th 16 | This was certainly a good surprise after the disappointing singles. It's a much softer album as opposed to the unbound aggression of VxV and Captors, but they pull the sound off well. The cleans are at the forefront of the album, which is by no means a bad thing given how good they are, however it's a shame to hear so little of the screams compared to past releases because of his improvement. However the aggression is not entirely gone; songs like Asleep, Anathema, and The Aftermath sound like they'd be home on VxV. Instrumentally they more so go for the melodic approach as opposed to the punchy power chord-driven riffs of VxV, and it's pulled off quite well (it can get overused at points though, examples being Flickering Flame and War In The Time Of Peace). Highlights include Anathema, The Aftermath, Fountain, Weary Ground, Lowly, Broken Bones, and closer Grave Digger. 3.8/5
