An absolutely fantastic compilation of Old-Time music that covers a lot of hyper-obscure ground from the early days of music recordings, even with a few field-recordings thrown in. The whole thing has a very monochromatic, distant feel that gives it a very brittle and unstable atmosphere, tieing into the concept of the book (which you should try to pick up if you get the chance) and it's title wonderfully.
