0.0 | Arche | September 8th 16 | Finnish composer Fjozart's first offering is something which I'm not quite sure whether to be impressed with or not. The first two tracks and the closer sound as though they'd make fantastic BGM for a fantasy game (which I can only assume they are, with the artists dedication to Realms of Rhodor), comprising of dark atmospheres, brooding choral sections and militaristic drums - a little unoriginal perhaps, but very well done. However, 'The Gates' is a bizarre addition after 'War Is Coming' replacing power with trite guitar melodies more suited to 2 p.m. insurance adverts, a theme unfortunately again explored in 'The Red Village.' There's nothing here that's bad, as such, but this feels more like a segment of a portfolio than an EP.
