1.5 very poor | Antonius | November 25th 16 | It appears that the mainstream/pop-rock style is the new way forward for one of the finest glam acts of the 1980's. Hell, I've even enjoyed the 'softer' rock albums such as Crush and Have a Nice Day. I've found them honest, accessible and passionate. But I cannot accept what is coming out from them since 2013. It was evident from the first moment that the impact from Sambora's leave was going to be massive and instead of weighing every guitar note and melody very carefully, Jon releases whatever comes into his head. The album starts rather dynamically with the energetics "House Not For Sale" and "Living With The Ghost", but then the aimless 'boom-booms' of "Knockout" chopped my hopes for something good. As it closes towards its end, its becoming even worse. Specifically, I would like to mention "Reunion". The title is obvious enough and a few might chose to skip it. But i took the courage and I thought I was going to be rewarded; it had a build-up, a melody and a positiveness at the point where "the night ignites the day / make some memories along the way". Unfortunately, I was stunned when the main chorus line does not fit and makes no rhyme: "... start your revolution, and I'll see you at the reunion". Enough. Recommendations: "Living With The Ghost".

5.0 classic | AshArcher | November 4th 16 | Of course, I think it's brilliant (Massive diehard!) - but that's not because they've put out any album - it's because they've done what any good band should - stuck to the formula that they do well, with just a few tweaks and changes to make it unique and innovating. Anyone who thinks Richie will be missed is sorely mistaken - this album proves that the band didn't NEED Richie to thrive. But sadly, his absence will immediately make some prejudiced to this album judging by a few reviews. rI'll keep it simple - this album is a fresh take on Bon Jovi, glistening with keyboards at the forefront (Great to see you there shining Dave!) and will easily be a highlight in their career, so long as people give it a chance and look past Richie's departure. I can only find two songs I'm not in love with ("Devil's In The Temple" and "All Hail The King") - and by that I mean they're a 7/10 instead of a 9 or 10. rIt's hard to pick a favourite out of an album of outstanding songs, but so far I'd go with "This House", "Living With The Ghost", "Labor Of Love", "God Bless This Mess" and "Reunion".rThank you, Bon Jovi, for putting out another fantastic album, and continuing to never disappoint. I already love it, and will for years to come. Anyone who hasn't heard it simply MUST.

5.0 classic | Cayde618 | March 5th 18 | This album is clearly getting hate for it's it's typical 80's rock sound and nothing fresh. I don't think these guys understand the phrase, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

2.5 average | Lucman | October 23rd 17 | A fine new album from Bon Jovi. It doesn't shake things up too much and sticks to what he does
best. Not really in my ballpark but far from awful.

3.0 good | melodicrockfan | December 27th 16 | I like it but the first half is much stronger than the second half. Good pop-rock more in the vein of Bryan Adams or 80s John Mellendcamp. Biggest fault is many songs sound similar and no real stand out track that's a Bon Jovi classic.
