Betallica (if you hadn't guessed it already) is a parody band that combines The beatles and metallica together. At this point you'll be either intrigued or revolted but hear me out. Beatallica are an excellent parody because they know better than anyone the key to a good parody is that's it's quality and done seriously. You can't let the mere concept of The beatles and metallica combined make the entire laugh. And they don't. The lyrics are full of jokes about both bands and the music is brilliant, these guys appear to be quite gifted musicians. The singer does a brilliant imitation of James as well in my opinion. It's a parody in league with "Stairway to Zeppelin". Fans of both the beatles and metallica will probably enjoy this band the most because they will get all the jokes as opposed to someone who only like metallica or the beatles.
Oh by the way if you wanna get your hands on this album you'll have to log onto the website www.beatallica.com
and download. The guys aren't selling any music, as it's a completely free project and aren't making any profit. You can also download their other album "A garage dayz night" there too.
Anyway on to the songs.
Blackened in the USSR
A mixture of "blackened" and "back in the USSR". Phases in with the "hey jude" tune then the "blackened" riff and then a metallicized version of "back in the ussr". Tells the story of the metal binge lifestyle of Kirk, Cliff, Lars and James. One of the best songs. 5/5
Sandman
The intro to this is almost identical to that of "Enter Sandman" bar the "taxman" bass line. It changes into a metal sort of "taxman" which talks about the sandman as opposed to the taxman. Features the prayer from "enter sandman" though slightly altered with a Lars imitator instead of a child. the first beatallica track I ever heard. 5/5
And I'm Evil
Combines the metallica cover of the diamond head song "Am I evil?" and "And I love her". Features Misfits style singing. Okaish track but not one of my favoutites. 4/5
Got to get you trapped under ice
One of the funniest tracks on the album. Takes the "trapped under ice" theme of lyrics and combines them with "got to get you into my life" music. Really really funny, one of my favourites. 5/5
Leper Madonna
One of the catchiest tracks. They perfectly fit the lyrics of "Leper messiah" in with "lady Madonna" with very funny results. When I hear the actual "lady Madonna" I sing these lyrics instead. 5/5
Hey dude
Basically just a metallicized "Hey Jude". Starts off with an acoustic passage that sounds like a combination of "hey Jude" and "nothing else matters". Gets going with the opening of a beer can. It's an encouraging song to a dude, telling him not to be led astray by posers and to become the metal guitar hero he is destined to be. Exaggerates the length of the nanana making it longer than the rest of the song. 5/5
I want to choke your band
I think "James" voice really shines on this track. It's a metallicized version of "I wanna hold your hand", talking about how they want to beat up all the poser bands. One of my favourite Beatallica songs. 5/5
We can hit the lightz
Mixture of "Hit the lights" and "We can work it out". A little too quick to be funny and sort of annoying. They're kind of saying what they've already said before. 3/5
Anyways I'll leave the duty of listening to these guys up to you! Enjoy!
