An unfortunately often overlooked Cocteau Twins release, The Moon & the Melodies picks up where Victorialand left off, following suit with dreamy soundscapes that this time around are inspired by the deep blue ocean rather than ice deserts. With Harold Budd helping out, this album leans even more towards ambient with half of the album being eerie instrumental. Therefore, it's not primarily a showcase of Fraser's vocals, but anyone who loves CT's guitar soundscapes just has to listen to it, or at the very least the opener. - 7.5
