Review Summary: Trainor attempts to graft together doo wop and terrible rapping with female empowerment and falls way short.

From the moment Meghan Trainor attempted to use the word "breasteses" to create a rhyme scheme, I knew the album was going South. Trainor's retro doo wop sound from songs like All About That Bass makes a small comeback on tracks like Watch Me Do but that is where the good ends. Trainor's "rapping" sound on her verses is something that I feel wrong even labeling rap. Trainor somehow makes white girl rapping, a trend that nobody really wanted or deserved, even worse than before. Every time she breaks out into one of these verses, I can barely bear to listen. On the track Better, Yo Gotti comes in to deliver a verse about giving his girl everything he has, not just a DM this time. After reducing Gotti to a monogamous, disappointing slow flow rapper, Trainor goes into Hopeless Romantic, a song that I actually enjoyed because of the slower beat that finally showcased the vocal talents of Trainor. The only other song I sort of enjoyed was Me Too, with a fun beat and catchy chorus. The few songs I enjoyed were soon outweighed by songs like Dance Like Yo Daddy, a song in which Trainor sings about "old man overbite" and "touching your toes" which she apparently can't do. After even more terrible verses and a few empowering songs I assume are directed at middle school girls who just got dumped after their fifth 4 day relationship that month, Trainor's Train Wreck finally comes to a screeching halt after the annoying and unnecessary Champagne Problems. In conclusion, Trainor's album has been a massively disappointing combination of her terrible "rap" and short catchy choruses that bring nothing new to the table, all while sounding like a highly marketable album that should really achieve its largest sales in the "5-12" age range category.

This is the sophomore slump following the surprise hit album, it'll sell less copies and by the third album next year she'll no longer be relevant.

What kind of artist titled their first album "Title" like "I don't have any word to resume the whole album". Filter's "title of record" makes more sense but because it's Filter...

Least it's not as bad as Charlie Puth's Nine Track Mind. Not exactly a compliment, cause some of the songs on here (Me Too, Watch Me Do, etc.) are pretty close to rancid. That said, there ain't nothing on here that's as crap as Dear Future Husband was.

But for real though, she has never even looked like somebody I would call 'fat'. She just looks like she has big bones or something and she has like wide shoulders and a big face. Just based off the "Title" artwork she looks like she is normal sized to me.
