The remix is delightful. Mendez's bass is warmer, Mike's vocals are more rounded, the guitars have a shit ton of
punch and you can hear every single little intricacy in Lopez's drums! A welcome addition to any Opeth fans
collection for two albums which were always meant to be together.

Steven Wilson should get a goddamn medal for this remix.He got both albums to an entirely new world, especially Damnation and Lopez and Mendez got justice for good.

The remix of Deliverance sounds off. I feel like the bass drums have lost all their power, while wilson added a bit too much reverb to everything to give it atmosphere.rDamnation worked out so much better.

This set is a testament to how essential a mix can be in the opinion of an album;
Deliverance has been given new life in my eyes. The original mix always felt a bit weak,
considering how the album was supposed to be their heaviest. With this new mix, it shot
up on my list of favorite Opeth albums. Amazing. And Damnation, one of their best, is
made even better. A set definitely worthwhile for Opeth fans, though I'd go for the
2CD/2DVD set. The vinyl packaging is extremely bare-bones. Not worth the price at all,
even if the sound quality is absolutely impeccable.

This is the way Deliverance and Damnation were meant to be released. Together as one epic package. SW's remix is a nice addition too.

In 2016, Opeth revisits the now-famous albums "Deliverance" and "Damnation", pairing them up in a single package, but not without giving the albums a makeover with help from Steven Wilson and Bruce Soord. How is it, you ask? The end result is spectacular, which is no surprise considering Opeth's legendary status. The remix is stunning. Mendez's bass takes on a warmer tone, Mike's vocals stand out more, the guitars are more powerful, and even the drums possess clarity and nuance! A welcome addition to any Opeth fans' collection for two albums which were always meant to be together. Can Steven Wilson and Mikael Alerfeldt finally win some Grammy awards now??

"Deliverance & Damnation" is nothing more than a compilation of both Opeth albums
"Deliverance" and "Damnation", joined on a double CD. It's very interesting to have
"Deliverance" and "Damnation" as a double studio album combining perfectly well the two
musical sides of Opeth. Originally released in 2002 and 2003 respectively, "Deliverance" and
"Damnation" were once considered to be released as a double CD album, but Mikael Akerfeldt
eventually decided to send them out on their own separately, as both are so completely
different from each other that it just made better sense that way. From there, we all know
the history. "Deliverance" is one of the heaviest albums in the Opeth canon, as their brand
of progressive death metal goes into levels of brutality, beauty, and complexity that saw no
stopping the band, while "Damnation" scales things back considerably in the form of
gorgeous, melodic progressive rock with a healthy dose of folk leanings. Two polar opposite
albums, but one that clearly sparked a shift in the band to more classic prog waters that
would fully come to fruition a decade later. Buying it is an interesting experience really.
And as this is an excellent remastered version it's even better to check these two albums
again.

I'll need to listen more closely to the Damnation remaster to tell the differences but
Deliverance's bass drums are far too prominent and they nearly ruin certain songs. The biggest
example of this is on Master's Apprentices. I never personally had a huge problem with
Deliverance's mix, it may not be as pristine as Blackwater Park's but it didn't hurt the album too
much IMO, whereas this one did.
