3.5 great | Renickulous | September 23rd 15 | Went totally under the radar- a well crafted fusion of post-rock and trip hop, Binary starts with "Samurai", a track similar in nature to something produced by the likes of Mt. Kimbie, Bonobo, Bibio, or Blockhead. Synths galore dominate, with samples and washed out voice-overs that bring a nice Boards of Canada feel to Binary. Overall the album takes and takes and takes from other artists, but does so in a way that it feels familiar without feeling off-putting in anyway. Enjoyable morning music to zone out to, good music for a sunny ride through the countryside, or fine background music for being poolside.
