Review Summary: Bobnoxious' Greatest Hits is a fantastic addition to the band's discography. I'm suremyself and any other rockoholic loves the way the album can rock them. Best compilation I have listened to in a very long time.

Bobnoxious has been around for a good ten years now. Their career has been solid; they opened for kiss (as well as many big bands), have had multiple radio interviews, and have become a common name in Ontario. Why haven’t you or many other people that aren’t from Ontario heard of Bobnoxious? Why aren’t they as big as I’m making them out to be? It’s in this wave of mainstream rock and roll bands that the band gets sucked under. To many, the fact that Bobnoxious isn’t as mainstream is what draws them to this punk feeling rock n’ roll band.
By 2011 Bobnoxious has put out four albums, hitting local London radio waves on multiple occasions. The band had released enough popular hits and fan favorites that the decision had been made to put together a “greatest hits” album. The album consists of 18 rockin’ tracks, featuring two live tracks, one track off the Christmas album, and a handful of the most recognizable Bobnoxious tracks that can be found off of each of their albums. Although their first two albums were much more successful, they had a few tracks off of each record.
Being the band’s greatest hits album, they skipped over their filler tracks, such as Rock The Monster and got straight to the jams one would for sure hear at a party, or would be played at a social gathering. When you hear Bobnoxious, you know there is an easy going, damn good time ahead of you. The most popular songs Big Cannons, Here We Go Again, Rockaholics, Rock ‘N Roll, Should’ve Been Nice To Me, won’t go quietly and Long Night make a delightful appearance on this album.
This record goes to show how consistent Bobnoxious is with their four chord, three verse and three (or so) chorus formula. Throughout their entire career (up until the newest release E.O.A.) they have not changed their style. They come to play rock ’n roll salted in punk, and they make sure their audience knows it. Their lyrical themes are parties, sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll. They have a song or two about fighting, but not too many. The band has an overall happy and upbeat feeling to it.
The shortest song on the compilation is titled ’I’d Never Say”, which sits at a solid minute. The song is played by an acoustic guitar, with Bob’s solid voice telling a certain listener how he would never say stupid *** like “I love you” or “I want you”. Bobnoxious puts at least one of these songs on their albums, each time the lyrics get even more humorous. The longest track is titled “Long Night” at 3:57, and is a story about being so drunk that you’ve drank yourself out of your home. The song is fun despite the punishment that the central character of the song goes through.
The compilation features two live tracks; fan favorites Won’t Go Quietly and Should’ve Been Nice To Me. Should’ve Been Nice To Me was recorded live at London Ontario’s own Norma Jeans (I believe). Both of the songs were recorded with great quality, and are fairly easy on the ears. There isn’t too much that needs to be said about these two tracks.
The Bobnoxious Greatest Hits compilation album is a fantastic addition to the band’s ever growing discography. It’s suggested for Bobnoxious collectors, and people wanting to get into the band but have no idea where to start. This is a collection of Bob’s most solid and well known songs. Songs off this LP I’d personally suggest are Here We Go Again, Won’t Go Quietly, Rockoholics, and Should’ve Been Nice To Me. If you are interested in buying a copy of this album or any Bobnoxious album, contact them on their face book page and ask them about buying it. Seeing as how they are still local talent and not on the mainstream side of music it is hard to find a copy of any Bob record. Be sure to check out their other albums, and have a rockin’ day/night/afternoon/morning.
