| 4.0 excellent | La Revolucion | June 20th 07 | From the first tribal beats of "Fleece On Brain," Matthew Dear sucks you into his bizarre world of low baritone voices harmonizing with scraggly high falsettos, beats that could be from ancient sacrificial rituals, and a whole lot of fun. That's the word that best describes Asa Breed - Fun. It's fun to hear Matthew Dear's somewhat ridiculous voice singing what are essentially pop songs, and it's fun to always be trying to guess what comes next. Only very occasionally dull, Asa Breed is one of the first albums I've heard this year that always has something interesting going on.
