One of the weaker Zorn records. Opener "Orphee" is a variation on a Debussy piece, which is competent but unmemorable in the grand scheme of Zorn's oeuvre; "Frammenti Del Sappho" is a 13-minute mostly female a capella track that is more annoying than entertaining; three-part closer "Walpurgisnacht" is a jump-cut atonal classical work which, like "Orphee," is good but not mind-blowing. At only 32 minutes, this is extremely short, too.
