As the soft warm glow of the holiday season evolves into the dark dusk of disillusion with unfulfilled resolutions,
ruined diets, and unpaid bills, bills, bills that the New Year brings it's really nice to spot a ray of sunshine among
the clouds. Thankfully, Johnny Reed's new album "ACT 2: The Johnny Reed Show" arrived early enough in the
new year to be that prescribed tonic for the winter blues that we all need sometime.

"ACT 2: The Johnny Reed Show" is a shot in the arm of 100% feel good positive rock music that I needed to get
me through the cold winds currently blowing outside. From the opening track, "About You", to the final, brief
instrumental closing track, titled "Johnny's Fun Drums", Reed delivers the goods with a smile over the course of
the twelve tunes on his latest compilation.

His writing is as strong on melody as it is uplifting in attitude. There are hints of early Oasis seasoned with a
touch of Wilco that flavors his compositional style. Even when he's singing about serious subjects, like the songs
"Such A Beautiful Bird" or "The Natives Are Restless", you get the feeling he's trying to suppress a sunny smile.

According to his press-kit this is Johnny Reed's fourth release. On "ACT 2: The Johnny Reed Show" he not only
penned every number, but he also tracked every note on this collection all by himself. That's right, no other band
members or back up musicians to help to lay down all the tracks, and the fact that he does it so well is more than
just a little impressive.
