2.0 poor | INTERNATIONAL POPSTAR STEVEN WILSON | March 2nd 15 | Well, at the end of the day this could have been worse. What Mad Theater shows is that Hitsugi is as much out of energy as his mother band and Kenzo never really got passed his. While I was actually really surprised by Hitsugi's vocals on here and there were some nice pop hooks here and there, the song The Carnival being the standout, there isn't really anything happening. A lack of variation, ambition and overall staleness plagues the album in much the same way that it has been doing the duo's mother bands, a real disappointment considering Hitsugi's past song-writing strength. In the end, this album just comes off as the guy from Nightmare that dresses like Hide from X Japan and another dude that used to be in Ayabie trying to get a little bit of extra cash.
