Review Summary: One of the most important demos in Czechoslovak metal history

VyznánÃ* smrti (The Profession of Death)

This casette came as a bolt from the blue and immediately threw DEBUSTROL to the top of the nascent extreme metal scene in Czechoslovakia, next to bands like TÖRR or KRYPTOR. It was getting famous through rumours, from fan to fan, through fan club or few underground metal fanzines. In fact, whole extreme metal was quite illegal in 1988, and playing it was also playing with fire, because you never knew when the boys from STB (CS secret police) would knock at your door...

DEBUSTROL, in their own words, were just trying to play as quick and as hard as possible, calling their style "ultra-mosh". Line-up was: Kolins (g,voc), Trifid (g), Cizák (bg) and Melmus (dr, he joined TÖRR later).
Demo was recorded in the basement of culture house in Mladá Boleslav just in one session, so the sound is quite horrific, but fully able to show what this band was intending to play. After recording few songs, one of two bass drums broke, so the rest is recorded only with one :-). You can hear it quite easily, because it`s sound is stronger since that.

So what was so-called ultra-mosh? They were playing fast and aggressive thrash metal with strong songwriting and ability to create memorable and catchy (in terms of the genre of course :-) songs. You can also hear some black metal influence here, especially in lyrics. In fact, thrash and black metal bands were influencing each other oftentimes and it was normal they played together concerts and were "loaning" players among the bands.

Songs like "Antikrist", "Protest", "ÚdolÃ* Hádu" or "VyznánÃ* smrti" became a band classics and no live show could be without it. Many songs from this demo were also later recorded on first DEBUSTROL`s LP "Neuropatolog".

Unluckily, few months after recording, Kolins and Cizák had to enter the forces of Czechoslovak army to defend our socialistic country against all hostile capitalist pigs :-), and DEBUSTROL`s career was stopped for two years. Meanwhile, the socialism has collapsed, but that is already another story...

Despite some minor hiccups, good review, pos.

Separate the text into paragraphs so that it reads better.

I tried to separate it a little and made some minor changes in longest sentences.

Still don`t know what to do with "hiccups", English has too few letters I think :-)

It's okay, the review reads fine.

Right now, this is a wall of text, you should try and make separate paragraphs out of it. Use the key "Enter" at the start of each paragraph and sentence-paragraph.
