I doubt anyone reading this review would of heard of DW's Acoustics, but he is a solo artist that travels mainly around england and writes songs about what he see's. His albums are not available in shops, they are only available at his gigs, but you can also download them from his website.

This is his latest album. He wrote this album while over in America touring, so it has a semi american theme. It also has a english political theme as with his other albums.

Reviews Track by Track

1. Intro
A short intoduction played on acoustic guitar and then speeded up. A nice catchy tune but nothing thrilling.

2. Where am I ?
This is amoungst the strongest songs on the album. Its about when he first arrived in America and didn't know where he was or what to do. Its very funny at parts but also quite deep and beautifully played on the acoustic guitar.

3. Boris and the Conservatives
An anti labour track, not the best song on the album. Its co-written by Dan Henson who featured on the last album. Its a parody of political punk bands, and quite funny.

4. Man named Bacon
Another funny song. Not great accompaniment by guitar by brilliant lyrics. Strangely enough its about a man called bacon that he met in america.

5. Bring it home
A brilliant powerful song. Its a cross between country and US rock. This is the only song played on electric guitar, and has a very catchy riff, with powerful vocals

6. In the country
A country western style song about hics. Very amusing lyrics at times and a fake put on voice.

7. Since when did the weather man predict the weather
A serious song about how people think they know DW when really they know nothing. A nice finger picked acoustic riff with great vocals.

8. The agony and the ecstacy
This is an original song with a borrowed riff. Sung to the tune of avenged sevenfolds unholy confessions this song is about the rock n roll lifestyle. About going out and stage a feeling a rush but then feeling depressed after. Great vocals on this track

9. Extraterestrial Highway
The albums title track is another serious song about not fitting it. Its alot less upbeat than the other songs but a well written song.

10. The Wall
This practically the whole of the wall by pink floyd, played on acoustic guitar. It has no solos, just chords, but its sung and played very well. Its a very long track

11. Bring the boys back home
Another pink floyd cover. Very epic. He really pushes himself with his vocals

12. Take your mama
Yes this is a scissor sisters cover. Played on acoustic guitar it sounds just like the original. Well sung and a catchy song.

13. Yoshimi battles the Karma police
This is an interesting song. Half flaming lips and half radiohead, this combines an acoustic version of both the songs

14. Until next time
A great epic end to a great album. A really good sing-a-long song that always has his crowds up and singing

This is a great album, very well written and performed. If your lucky enough to see him live make sure you buy this album at the end of the show. I think he's back touring the UK again
