This is where the fun begins, with a massive leap in improvement over their 80s stuff. Undoubtedly it still owes a lot to Schuldiner (and perhaps Atheist?), though this influence is used more as a springboard for experimentation. The addition of dissonant Voivod-esque chords and interesting lead guitar really spice things up.
