Bad Brains are and always will be known as one of the definitive hardcore bands. They were also one of the more unique groups under that genre. They brought hardcore together with reggae and made some of the best music of the 80's with it. Like most hardcore bands they never made much money and rarely reached the billboard 200 but that doesn't change the impact they made on music.
The Omega sessions are a collection of some of their singles. This means that their are only 5 songs on this disc. Even so this showcases bad brains at their definite best. We get to see the hardcore fury in I AGAINST I, AT THE MOVIES, and ATTITUDE and the softer more pleasant reggae in STAY CLOSE TO ME and I LOVE I JAH. Now this is my personal opinion but I think nearly every Bad Brains song with a few exceptions (BANNED IN D.C., PAY TO CUM) are inferior to these.
Definite highlights to this album are I AGAINST I, STAY CLOSE TO ME and ATTITUDE. If you can find this album (and I'm sure you can't) buy it right away especially if you like the nearly opposite genres of hardcore and reggae.
That's my review, its short and I hope sweet.
