Trash Can Wam Wam, a small band from somewhere in Middle America, spent a couple months in late 1997 and early 1998 playing tiny venues in the Midwest
supporting their independent and eponymous release.

I was lucky enough to see them live at Hodgkin's Hole in Milwaukee in February of '98. There were only a handful of people there and all of them,
including myself, had never heard of Trash Can Wam Wam before. But by the time they finished their first song, everyone in the Hole was a fan. By the end
of the show, everyone's lives had changed.

Over the next 16 years, the band drifted into complete obscurity and it was nearly impossible to find anyone who had even heard of them. Then copies of
their album, which had been printed once before in a small batch a short time before the band broke up, started to resurface.

It was magical to hear the sound of Trash Can Wam Wam. They skirted a line somewhere between Squirrel Bait and Shrimp Boat, with youthful enthusiasm and
unmatched creativity. I'm excited to think that a whole new generation of fans will discover this magnificent band and, if we're lucky, convince them to
play a couple more shows.
