A somewhat dissapointing soundtrack to a great movie. And it's not actually the song selection that brings this down, its the artist selection. One of the reasons why Detriot Rock City is a good movie is its classic rock soundtrack that that captures classic rock era circa 1978. But for the soundtrack they took a great many of these well known songs such as AC/DC's Highway To Hell, Def Leppard's 20th Centruy Boy, Kiss' Strutter and replaced with them with versions by Marylin Manson, Drain STH, and The Donnas. Mind you, Everclear and Pantera do a good enough job on their covers but its not enough to save this. Some of the movies best songs such as Bowie's Rebel Rebel, Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak and Halen's Runnin With The Devil redeem this but overall an average score. Fun movie though.
