Moby is a guy with the rare gift of being a jack-of-all-trades. While sometimes this doesn't translate into great material, he's proven that he can make some truly fantastic stuff with his large electronic palette. This, a compilation of early works he did while under many different names, is a snapshot of his early years, where he frequented the dance clubs of New York and became well known within its electronic scene. The material here is pretty consistent, consisting of unsurprising but above-average acid house. Sometimes Moby strikes gold, as "Permanent Green" will demonstrate, but it's mostly just acid house as solid as it comes. It's not entirely memorable, but it is very easy to listen to, and his consistency throughout those early years cannot be understated.
