Another in the growing batch of hook-filled alt-rockers coming out of England, Blitz Kids hit their straps on 3rd LP 'The Good Youth'. Slickly produced by John Feldmann, the now quartet deliver a number of infectious sing-along anthems with gang vocals around every corner. Front-man Joe James has the perfect voice for this sound & somehow delivers the overly uplifting lyrics in non-cheesy fashion. With practically every track geared for radio airplay, it's not exactly innovative & there's still some work to do on the ballads, but this is ultimately an enjoyable album that serves its purpose. Recommended Tracks: Run For Cover, On My Own, Roll the Dice & Sometimes.
