This is really interesting. It's far more folk than country, yet it seems like everyone in Mickey's circle was straight up Nashville. Kind of a minimalist record where acoustic guitar sits far in the background and reverb-drenched vocals take the spotlight. Maybe even the slightest touch of baroque pop in the same sense as the most stripped back tracks from Pet Sounds. This one really doesn't fit snuggly into any kind of box, and I think that's how Mickey wanted it.
