I saw this band in New Hampshire (opening for the Black Crowes) this past summer. They played a couple of songs from this album, which hadn't come out yet. I love how Derek and Susan really let all of the musicians in the band feature prominently...incredibly talented musicians. It would be easy to have the focal point of this band be Derek Trucks on he guitar, but they really have the feel of a developing band that will be around for a very long time. I listened to an interview with them recently on NPR, and they explained that they don't feel constrained to worry about the length of the songs...but sometimes those 15 minute jams do have me skip to the next track. Can't wait to see them again live.
