| 4.5 superb | PortalofPerfection | September 3rd 13 | Following a logical and fervent progression from their previous work, Lunarsea hit the melodic nail on the death metal head, and infuse some truly well executed black metal madness for good measure. The songs are as technical as they are fluid and combine a seemingly endless supply of complex and inventive riffs, precise and emotive solos, delightful spacey breaks (most often perfectly timed), powerful harsh and uplifting clean vocals, and punishing blasts of rage with poise and tenacity. Modern melodeath simply does not get any better than this.
