It starts off well enough. There are tons of bangers in the first half with solid performances by
Gucci and great beats. By the time the second half starts, it starts to get really repetitive.
Future also sounds tired and uninspired throughout most of the tape. Overall, I wouldn't cast
Meteor on this album. I would most likely only cast Fira, or Firaga on the latter half
in particular.

It must've been crazy in 2011 hearing that these two titans of trap would be collaborating for a tape, but like many of these collaborations, its own hype likely preceded it and an earth-shattering mixtape from the two was ended up being too good to be true. Still, for what it is Free Bricks is an enjoyable if inconsequential mixtape. The flaws are obvious; it's quite a bit frontloaded, with a few legitimate bangers in "Go", "Stevie Wonder", and "Lamborghini" setting things off right, but the quality tapers after "Lost It" and stays down until closer "Go For It". At times it can also seem like Future takes too much of a backseat to Gucci Mane; stepping back a little is to be expected as Gucci is the more seasoned artist, but sometimes it's like Future wasn't even in-studio with Wop when he recorded certain verses, as he sounds extremely detached (and not in a good way). It's highs are quite good to be sure, but it's lulls keep it from being remembered as a truly excellent collab.
