If you have heard Heccra before, you were probably thrown off after your first listen. The vocals sound hilarious, don't they? The lyrics... well,

It really is hard to take Heccra seriously, but after a few listens of "White Eagle", Heccra's first LP, you start hearing more than the vocals, and then after that the vocals sound sweet. You might even get around to enjoying the lyrics. Rather cheesy, but enjoyable. You can hear the joy in most of the songs, but at the same time you can hear the bleakness. It confuses me in the same way that Snowing does - a good way. Heccra sounds like twinkly emo, warped and distorted through a mad scientist. Many of the songs on this short LP have multiple melodies, with great samples. Five songs of upbeat chaotic craziness, one dreamy song, and to finish the album, the two minute ballad of the repeated lyrics "Life Sucks, then you die, it's not alright." This album is only about 10 minutes long, and free. So what are you waiting for?
