Other than being a rather bland mix of soft synth pads and smooth vocal samples (the last track even contains a Submotion Orchestra vocal bit), what really ruins Balanced is the percussion used. On paper, this shouldn't even be a problem since all it takes is a hazy sounding, bass heavy, simple beat to get the job done but instead J-Louis insists on using trap style beats in nearly every single song. Not only do they ruin the entire vibe of the track but they sound rather cheap too, perhaps originating from some free software. It just does not fit.
