3.6 great | DaveyBoy EMERITUS | March 27th 13 | Some 4 years after the excellent 'Good Views, Bad News', Oregon pop-punk act Broadway Calls return with their Bill Stevenson produced 3rd LP 'Comfort/Distraction'. Recalling early Green Day, the trio strive for that genre sweet spot between raw & gritty and fun & catchy. There's some promising maturity here, but it tends to blunt the quality of the hooks. The lessened dual vocal dynamic is one reason, even if the band lose nothing in terms of fantastic bass-lines. It may not best its predecessor, but this is another technically accomplished release from an under-rated group. Recommended Tracks: Bring on the Storm, I'll Be There, Lucky Lighter & Surrounded By Ghosts.

3.5 great | pepster50 | March 9th 13 | The vocalist's tone has that old school punk sound to it. Some really good tracks, some mediocre ones. Standouts: Lucky Lighter, Ill Be There, Life is Rythm
