Review Summary: The jester of hip-hop takes you on a very funky and funny ride, and manages to demonstrate some sick flows and dope beats. On April 17, 1970, a truly hilarious rapper from New Jersey was born. Reggie Noble, also known as Redman, got critically praised for his albums, "Whut? Thee Album", "Dare Iz A Darkside", and "Muddy Waters". In 2001, Redman made a comeback from his album "Doc's Da Name 2000", with Malpractice. Right from the beginning, Malpractice takes you on a (pardon the pun) "roller coaster ride" into a sonic whirlwind of funky beats, rhythms, and quotable lines such as "If I gotta pay to get in the club, Imma go pop the trunk and turn the street volume up to 10", for example. There are a handful of skits on this album, including the funny skit "Jerry Swinger Stickup", in which Redman and his girlfriend go on a Jerry Springer type show for neglected women in relationships. Then, to Redman's disapproval, his girlfriend breaks up with him to find a new man named "Stuart". This causes him to go on a rampage, in which he includes that an audience member gives away everything to him, including supermarket cards, gas cards, Easy Pads, Tic Tacs, amongst other things, and the skit ends with him shooting everybody in the audience with a machine gun. The two main singles, Let's Get Dirty and Smash Sumthin', were club bangers and popular songs in 2001. Let's Get Dirty even made it to 97 on the Billboard Hot 100. Redman weaves his flow over a Rockwilder beat on the aforementioned "Let's Get Dirty", and hypes everybody up for 3:55. DJ Kool makes an appearance, shouting the chorus along with Redman. Songs like "Lick A Shot" and "Smash Sumthin'" demonstrate his signature flow. Overall, this is an excellent album, and it shouldn't disappoint.
