Review Summary: Sheer musical brilliance at it's best.

Pinkly Smooth was an Avant-garde Metal band fronted by now now deceased, Jimmy Sullivan (Rathead). Yes he was the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold but besides that, this band is nothing like them. He used Pinkly Smooth to express his musical creativity and did a damn good job doing it.

The album is full of "goblin style" rock songs that rotate around Jimmy's twisted mind, likely to remind you of Pee-wees big adventure while on acid. Starting with the heavy Necromance Theatre, the metal influence is apparant. In "Mezmer", the music gets a bit more insane, as it progressively adds on more sounds and screams. "Nosferatu Does a Hefty Dance" Slows things down a bit with a dark and menacing piano intro followed up by unbelieveable music. Then "Pixel & Nasal" kick you in the throat from the start, only to (kind of randomly) end in a country-style redneck ho down.
"The Body of Death of the Man with the Body of Death" is a dark, yet fast paced and fun song. It changes between two VERY contrasting moods rapidly and fluidly. And ending on a slow, but perfect note, "McFly" wraps the album up, but leaves you wanting more...More Pinkly Smooth to listen to. The sheer musical brilliance is bound to remind you of Mike Patton's project, Mr. Bungle.

Just a few listens to the album will get you hooked, like cocaine and will keep you coming back for more.

little known fact is that track 6, MCFLY was named after a legendary english avant garde metal band called....MCFLY. They also made 'unbelievable music' quite possibly aimed at goblins.
