| 3.5 great | danielito19 | June 16th 24 | Also referred to by its opening track "To Satisfy", Mohinder's 7" debut is a perfect illustration of the immediacy of the early screamo scene in California. The anguished cover art perfectly maps to the Cupertino group's ethos, from the lyrical topics (which range from capitalism's insatiable demand for more to euthanasia to what I can only describe as a hardcore version of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi (bonus track 101 on the digital re-release by The Numero Group)) to the musical tendencies that pull you in with a catchy bassline before beating you over the head with a metallic skate-park riff. While it is undeniably a youthful record, the songwriting prowess belies the deeper maturity of what half this band would go on to do musically in Duster.
