If Braxton's extensive discography, on top of the length of most of his individual projects PLUS his unique brand of Avant-Garde intimidates you, but you want to check him out regardless, this is the album you'll want to start with. Even more playful than usual, very little to no true "free jazz/improvisation" or "modern classical", there's even a track that features extensive use of circus music influences. The go-to Braxton for newbies, and an excellent record in its own right. ED: You ever spend a while without listening to your favorite genre and you sort of start to wonder if you're losing your love for it? This album (+ Creative Orchestra), and this man in general just proved that theory wrong for me when it comes to Jazz.
