When I say this band is heavy, I f***ing mean HEAVY. Like watching meteorites the size of Rhode Island pummel the earth continuously for a half hour straight. That would accurately describe the sound of this album; it is just bleak, apocalyptic, and crushing as all hell. The guitars and bass play in an ungodly low tuning with ultra-thick and crunchy distortion. Then when you mix that with an ultra heavy kick drum and snare hits with the cymbals driving along together at a slow and churning pace, you got a musical recipe that is ready kick straight through a goddamn mountain. The vocals fit the music and mood perfectly, they are just mean and pissed with the roars and screams of what might sound like some wretched beast ready to tear it’s poor prey to shreds.

These anonymous French dudes are some angry mother f***ers. You know they mean business with song titles like ‘Anal On A Deceased Virgin’, ‘War Strike Takes The Piss, and ‘Killed With A Monster Cock’. There aren’t many leads to be had, it’s mostly just pummeling open string chugs with A string bends thrown in between and some riffs occasionally. But they hardly resemble the typical metalcore breakdown; this is just the slowest and meanest sludge possible. The only real change of pace on this album is ‘Plenty Of Feeling’ which features a much faster pace and a 2/4 drum beat. Although there isn’t a huge amount of variation on this album each song has it’s own thing going on and it remains quite enjoyable throughout. And when blasting it in your car even like me with my Honda Civic with stock speakers, I still get a really nice back massage out of it. So if you got the ears of a man who can take a beating and love their metal heavy as can be this album is for you. Hopefully there will be more to come from these angry French sludgers in due time and we’ll see what else these guys can do with their monolithic wall of sound.
