Kane Hodder, the name alone can leave one confused. AND that is what they are all about. Being unique and bluring the lines. They classify themselves as adding a bit of science to rock. But in reality, they are not like anything you have heard, They throw in bits and pieces of punk/hardcore/indie rythm's licks and attitude. It makes for a wonderful combination and portrays what those styles should REALLY sound like. From the begining of Last of the anti facist warriors; when he cries "Sonic BOOOM" you are just compelled into listening to the rest of the album, in tack order. The vocals are amazing, from bone chilling screams that are heartfelt, to the notes he reaches on the choruses. I mean for godsakes, he even adds shrill yodels at points. He is insane as well as the performances they give. The drums on this album are just what they need to be. Although the toms may sound dead to others, they really are used well. Especially his ride work and willingness to groove. The bassist and guitarist deffinitly hit it off and communicate well with eachother. The harmonies and slow songs (Heaven help me, i love a psychotic, and A machine in the world of man) are just as good as the fast paced "make you wanna shout out and dance songs." such as, (I think patrick swayze is sexy or jason dean was a teen liberator). While other songs really hold there groove with sharpened vocals and fun loving guitar riffs that make you wanna move, much like in (too much eddie kendricks, not enoughtdave ruffin).

Although the bass work is not too intricate and mind blowing, it does have some key fills throughout the album, which does it good, not over doing it and not underdoing it. The tone is superb in many songs with just the right amount of cut and blend. For my favorite songs are mainly the whole cd, but the ones that stand out the most are not the typical ones they are asked to play at shows or viewed on there myspace. It is the more indepth tunes that contain intense melodies that make you smile, especially on track 10 with the accoustic rythm. One thing that will always stand out most to me, and possibly others. Is although his voice may not be one for all. It sure does cut through nicely, and when he sings ( not screams ) he really puts in for the song and really adds body to it. Not to mention lyrics that will make you go, huh?

this is my first review, im sure its not the best being inadequate. but just judge for yourself, by the cd, you cant go wrong. or atleast attempt to listen to them over pv or myspace.com

Ugh, I don't like this band at all. I mean sure the vocals are eccentric, but they sound pretty bad placed with the music.

They're a pretty fun band. I listened to them a lot more when the album first came out.

I presume this is not the same Kane Hodder that plays Jason Vorhees in several Friday The 13th horror films?
