Not really unless you consider all alt-country/Americana that (I don’t). I love pure country. I mean I love a lot of country for folks who don’t like country too but I said that in this case more because I assume Johnny’s checking this as part of his genre list for country and I wouldn’t rec this as a representation of the country genre per se (or any gothic country really as that’s kind of the epitome of using country aesthetic without the songwriting, at least from what I know, more so that most regular alt-country for sure).

I do for the most part yeah

Don’t agree but fair enough because I guess a lot of it is that. But also a lot of stuff that gets labeled alt-country/Americana is just kind of code for non-mainstream/radio country, especially in the 90s.

"Of course what does good mean really, I mean if it's good why is the tag applied in a condescending manner? Well the reason being for this is the material and realization of talent and overall expanding of the bands sound which would be featured in latter works by far surpasses the material presented here. Sure it could be taken in the context that this is the child before the man; the band has growing up to do, but the child presented in the previous metaphor is no ordinary child"
do i really have to read all this bs just to understand that this is a 3
