isnt that guy just the vocalist though?

like no offense but i like ss for their riffs and songwriting (basic as though they may be compared to genre titans, sure) not for that guy's vocals. if anything i kinda hated his cleans in the beginning

That’s why I prefer Miseration, they’re much more of a brutal death metal band and Älvestam uses his clean vocals very sparsely, in fact I don’t think he does at all on The Mirroring Shadow. And even when they are used on the third album it’s morw like Viking-style chants than the super clean style he does in SS. He sings the most on the first Miseration album but it’s a bit buried in the mix so the riffs get the majority of the attention

As for SS, I just find nothing exciting about them anymore. The riffs really bore me most of the time

Lol I wouldn’t really label Miseration brutal death but compared to SS they might as well be. Their first album is a bit melodeath but they dropped the melo on the next two and just played sick death metal

I would say Miseration’s first album is more like Scar Symmetry but the dynamics reversed, far more emphasis on being heavy with some more melodic moments here and there. The next one was just pure brutality. They’re not a band I really listen to much but they’re pretty good

I’m hardly familiar with Amon Amarth, I’m super picky about melodeath

Is any of their stuff better than With Oden On Our Side? I remember not caring for that one
