The drummer plays the exact same beat throughout the whole album.

Thought it was pretty cool that Sputnik is getting some recognition. Under the "professional reviews" section too!

I still am not really feeling this? I don't think it touches Oceanic. The first three tracks are really cool, "Dulcinea" being the best on the album in my opinion, and "Holy Tears" is pretty breathtaking. But even with those tracks, Aaron's monotone clean vocals sound way too similar on all of the tracks. And at least with Oceanic, all the songs were long but every riff grabbed you. It seems like with this one they tried to branch out with the guitars but the riffs aren't as gripping. The simplest ones end up being the most powerful, like the intro and ending to 'Duclinea" and the intro to "Holy Tears."

I'm sure it will grow on me.

Hahaha, I wanted to not believe that statement too but that first drum beat on "Wrists Of Kings"is played alot through the album, it's kinda funny.

The drumming on this album is so tight.

It's like my favorite part.

This is a good album, but Im starting to miss the heavier sound, They seem to have lost alot of there aggression as they have progressed. For me Oceanic will probobly never be topped, but this is still an enjoyable album.

I've had this for a while now, and I've been having trouble coming up with a rating. As of now it's a 4.5 from me, but I don't know if this will get more tiring to me after a while.

I need to start listening to this again.

A lot of people (including Aaron himself) have said the album was partly inspired by the book House of Leaves...

Which I have ordered from my local library!

I sampled this. It didn't interest me from what I heard, but with all these raved albums, it's probably better than what i sampled.

It's not that great to be honest. Just listen to Oceanic, or better yet, Neurosis.

The reason people think the drums sound the same is because of the focus on the toms.
