did anybody else get it with the bonus dvd? I'm so happy for that.

*3rd.
Face Dances, Endless Wire, what's the other post-Moon album? Was it The Kids Are Alright?

Which bonus DVD? mine came with a dvd, but it's only 6 songs, and I think it comes with all of them. Still really good, Roger is still awesome.

Hey, it's "may have" not "may of," "could have," "would have" (or would've--contracted form) not "could of" or "would of." Apart from that, thoughtful review. I agree it "could've" been better with standard song lengths and pruning out the stuff that wasn't quite developed. But I get the impression Townshend just had a screw-that attitude, which is also kind of intriguing. I guess he knew there wouldn't be any airplay hit singles anyway.

This should be obvious, but you have heard other Who albums and then judged them, right? Listen to Quadrophenia, Who's Next, Live at Leeds or their debut to hear The Who at their best.

Black Widow's Eyes and It's Not Enough are the only songs on the album that I would give 5/5s to but the rest of it is good too. And the mini-opera shouldn't really be dissected.

why not dissect the mini opera? i was hoping for a more consistent album altogether. i find the Endless Wire portion of the album to be inconsistent, although overall good. and i find the same with the mini opera. i honestly believe by doing some trimming and expanding of the mini opera songs along with different placement on the LP it would of been a stronger effort. for instance Fragments and In The Ether are taken from the mini opera yet find positions on the first half of the record. "my" final Endless Wire is thus

Fragments

We Got A Hit (Extended Version)

I've Had Enough

Black Widow's Eyes

Man In A Purple Dress

Mike Post Theme

Two Thousand Years

God Speaks, Of Marty Robbins

Endless Wire (Extended Version)

Sound Round

Pick Up The Peace

They Made My Dreams Come True

Mirror Door

Tea & Theater

You Stand By Me

IMO this or something like it makes for a better album altogether. This Message Edited On 11.13.06

It's hard to get into the new Who, try some of their older albums. They were among the best rock bands ever but their new stuff doesn't hold as much sway.

Pretty okay album but It's Not Enough is REALLY good, one of my favourite Who songs.
