Good review.

I enjoyed TCFSR, and a couple songs from it were just catchy beyond belief. I'll still stop on "The Ghost of You", etc. if it pops up on shuffle.

The issue is, this album doesn't have a song that really sticks out and grabs you. It looks like they traded their trademark poppy sound for an arena rock one, and it just comes off as cheesy.

I think their single "welcome to the black parade" is a masterpiece from MCR, even though it's (as many say) ALMOST a compelte queen rip-off.. I don't see it that way, coz they've mixed it with their own style, so it really sounds different.. but that's my opinion! This Message Edited On 11.16.06

Every band rips off another band sometime in their carrer. A few exceptions are the Beatles and Elvis because they were the ones to start Rock n' Roll. Sure MCR ripped off Queen a little bit, but who cares. I'm a big Queen fan and i happen to like The Black Parade also. The songs are are well written and the chords they play are brilliant. You are aware that many of Elvis' songs used old blues standard melodies, right?

And I'm wondering if we're thinking of the same definition for chords, because all I heard in the bits and pieces I've listened to are power chords.

I was just thinkin about this the other day,
Wouldn't it be really wierd if your dad took you to parade and asked if you could be the saviour of the people?
Can you imagine how akward that woud be?

(what are you talking about nick, I'm gonna kill you some day becasue of your sass... by the way, I heard you call in to 94.7 this morning, Pink Floyd???)

People who don't like MCR why the hell are you on here reading the review!?!? You should be happy we don't critisize watever music you listen to. At least have the decency to shut the hell up! Queen is like the basis of rock! Theres about a hundred bands that sound like them! Thats the whole point of DIFFERENT GENRES! This album is good like MCR! (excluding the 1st album) they made songs with pretty catchy tunes just not as wild and energetic as the previous ones, they just went the safe side this time! OH AND! At least MCR lyrics make sense and have a purpose not just like your ordinary songs about "how I love it when you touch me, I love it when we do it" BLA BLA BLA learn to appreciate decent music people!

and omg south african radios need to improve! We just play watever artist that pays them the most... cough cough paris hilton cough

The internet is an egalitarian tool of communication. If you want to leave comments in any of the reviews I've written, I'm not going to stop you. All opinions are welcomed here.

Queen is like the basis of rock!

As much as I love Queen, no they aren't.

Thats the whole point of DIFFERENT GENRES!

No it isn't. Genres are just a catalog system.

they just went the safe side this time!

That's not really a very good point in MCR's defense.

OH AND! At least MCR lyrics make sense and have a purpose not just like your ordinary songs about "how I love it when you touch me, I love it when we do it" BLA BLA BLA learn to appreciate decent music people!

When you resort to attacking other people's taste (of which you know nothing about) because you're too emotionally excitable to make a point yourself, you come across as a complete dipshit.

Try it again when you're ready to talk without having a tantrum.

Wow you sure do speak in a monotonous tone. Plus you're a hypocrite of note, you just used up about 3/4 of the page trying to correct my opinion

I was trying to be nice, but if you want to be an ignorant little brat, then the gloves are off.

I'm not trying to correct an opinion, I'm trying to explain to you that you're being a dumbass. People have the right to dislike MCR just as much as you like them. If you can't handle a dissenting opinion, get off the internet and cry to your mother about the bad men online.

Bullshit like yours is not welcome here. You're pretending to understand rock when you clearly don't. You don't understand genres, you don't understand rock history, and you're getting defensive about a band that could care less about our criticisms.

Come back when you get some pubes. You're done here. This Message Edited On 11.20.06

I've no respect for this band. They had lost my confidence as soon as they had touched instruments. They are an outright embarrassment to all music and belong in the dregs with PANIC! At the Disco.

To all promoters using idiotic rationale: Something as cliche as commenting on how disdain is the popular expression towards popular music is simply a scapegoat for the absence of actual taste in music. There is a miniscule representation of good bands left on the radio or elswhere in the public mainstream media. One of the top albums on the charts is Hannah Montana's recent album right now. Does that tell any of you reading my post anything?

P.S. John, you have written an excellent review. I hope to see more in the future that are as well written. This Message Edited On 11.20.06
