my brother owns a couple of MCR albums....

they've gone from a generic band to a generic band trying to copy or emulate good stuff.......theres no real difference there

Formulaic and horrible , uninspired and cliche to the hilt

If I could I'd give it a 0

What I've heard from this is very much a Queen/Styx/Cheap Trick ripoff, but I highly doubt it could be all that bad. At least the guitarists have progressed on a little bit.

The fact that MCR ripped off other bands and songs isnt that bad, because they actually made good music out of it. Songs like The Black Parade and Mama, make their influences obvious, but they are delievered well.

Especially Mama, its just an amazing.

This doesnt mean the entire album is good. Cancer just doesnt do it for me.

I think that because of such a big hype of the song/ certain magazines reviews and the rave about 'Welcome to the black parade' that some people don't find it ok to like such bands being deemed the 'thing'. I agree to some extent and i love this band but i know this is not their best album but i like it. And for 'cancer' being the most depressive song EVER...it isn't yeah it's sad but i was hardly gushing tears....house of wolves is slow to start but listening to it it gets better.

My favorite is 'teenagers' or 'the end' or 'dead'.

There is soo much hype about this band people just either over expect something of turn their backs completely on it.

It is a good album just not the best & probably won't be remembered by many like bands like the beatles or Queen or Guns&Roses. It's not that band.

They're not emo, you moron. Emo is like "At The Drive In" and "Cirle Takes The Square". Please, please try not to misuse that word ever again, for your own sake. This Message Edited On 11.28.06

its just funny because you think you know what youre talking about

I won't be the first to say it: I don't know much about emo. But I do know that MCR are not emo and that the two bands I mentioned are. I haven't heard any material by the two bands, so I don't know exactly what makes them emo, or have a firm grasp on just what emo sounds like. But the point is I know that they are indeed emo and this band is not, so I know what I'm talking about in that sense.

At the Drive-In is not emo. At all. Thats what was funny about your post.

What the hell? I know I've seen them cited as an example of emo several times before. They must be hardcore then? (I'm basing that on the fact that they were on your emo/harcore list)

EDIT: nvm, Iare pretty much summed it up for me

And that is why you shouldn't be reprimanding people for using the word emo.

True enough. Just I had had seen both bands cited as emo several times before and no one said anything, so that made me somewhat confident in my post. Oh well. This Message Edited On 11.28.06

theres a soundoff made my StormX that really annoyed me. I don't have a problem with his opinion on the album, thats cool, but what I realy though shows his ignorance was this line: "Fans of the older stuff will be sadly disappointed that they won't be able to cut themselves to this CD,...". This quote is out of line, uncalled for, and it shows ur ignorance and that u completely lack openmindness. I reapeat that with ur general opinion of the album i don't have a problem.

About the concept and the inability to strongly match the songs and lyrics with the concept: I think a lot/some of these songs, or lyrics, were written a fair while back, eg. I Don't Love You. Therefore, it's like they've come up with this concept and taken these songs that they already had from years ago and tried to mould them into the concept with slight changes here in there. And in doing so may have missed the mark slightly, because they didnt fly with the concept from scratch. It's like using your dinner leftovers to make dessert. (She says with the shittest metaphore to ever eventuate).

They admitted to one of the strongest influences on this album as being Queen's - A Night At The Opera. Whoopdy-doo, yet another band who is/was influenced by the gigantuan that was Queen. Get over it.

The "La-Las" in 'Dead!' made me cringe. Literally. Then made me laugh, then made me go "oh" when the lines 'If life ain't just a joke then why are we laughing?' came about. Because yes, I was laughing, and maybe that was the point of it all.

I keep losing my next point...
Which musn't have been that important, but I think if I ever remember it that it will probably turn out to be my most important one. Yes. Blah.

Woody Woodpecker tribute riff, anyone catch it? Or was that just me? Haha.

I like 'Sleep'.
Which is a good way to end this rant because I'm going to bed.
This comment is actually a lot shorter than it could have been. Surprising control.

OH! Someone said something about suicide. Basically implying that My Chem are all about slitting wrists and whatnot. Pffft. Get a grip of your life. Last time I checked I've never seen someone (namely, Gerard Way) so extremely passionate about promoting suicide and self harm as being BULLSH*T. And that can be taken as a quote. "Bullsh*t". "P*ssing your life away on suicide is f***ing bullsh*t." Yes those were the words I do believe. Some people need to get their facts straight before they whimsingly throw around these false claims. Read up kiddies, and if you'd rather shoot yourself in the face than read up on MCR then maybe you shouldn't say anything about them at all IF you're not 100%. (I'm not saying you're not entitled to a voice, but atleast bring truth). Or do carry on dribbling your sh*t and people will just continue to contradict your theory and probably prove it wrong. Whatever. This Message Edited On 12.01.06
