that said ... call me crazy ... but i have a sneaking suspicion not everyone who 2d this is familiar with the birthday party ... maybe because the birthday party is still not very well known here, especially compared to mbv

i wonder if neoteric's incredible review had anything to do with it. .. . .. .

The vocals are just a gritting point for me, they really get on a guy’s nerves. And when he’s not trying to sound like a pseudo-Elvis, he’s screeching like a constipated dog. This is most relevant in Don’t Cramp My Style which is just some repeated musical part through most of it and barking through the second half.

Do dogs screech when they're constipated?

The album has a few decent tracks, but it's heavily let down by a few bum tracks.

A few are genuine bangers - "Forever and Again" and "Homelovin' Guy" are excellent, and "Tiger in My Tank" and "Inferno" hold their weight. Unfortunately, the rest of the tracks are between mediocre to borderline unlistenable - a great example of the latter is "Don't Cramp My Style".
