I bought this album the day it came out and on the first listen it was great. Having listened to it alot more, now i see just how great it is. You really have to buy it feel the power in it. The solos send chills up my spine.
I'm most of the way through the album right now, and I dig. "What Drives the Weak" really sucks.
I really like that song. I'm just starting to get into these guys.

I personally think What Drives The Weak is a great song...simply because it has a great, melodic, higher register bassline in a genre not really known for good basslines.

Having only heard one song from AoJB, I think War Within is a great disc. I have nothing to compare it to

This is a great disc. I also likes how they did more with the bass on this record - on past albums Paul just played (mostly) guitar-hugging rhythms, but on this one they got more unique and the bass stood out more.

I just bought this album the other day and it has to be my favorite metal album... at the moment. Nice review, by the way.

I don't see what is so great about this CD and I loved art of blance on this one it seems like they are playing hard technical stuff just to play at least on the drums. It lacks anything catchy, I've listen to this CD over and over again and nothing catches my ear that stands out.

Which is why every person has a thing called 'taste'. What one finds appealing, another may not - catchiness is all in the ear of the beholder I guess.

You know, I thought the same thing when I first listened to it. After listening to it again I began to realize that every song has subtle hints of catchyness. It may be a riff, a chorus melody, a solo, or something else that kind of gives each song a personality.

In "Enlightened by the Cold" its the very melodic chorus that makes the song memorable.

In "Act of Contrition" it happens to just be a neat guitar lick that is repeated in the verses.

In "What Drives the Weak" its the solo, soft part, main riff, and the chorus melody that does it. Of course that song is probably the most catchy on the CD lol.

"Inspiration on Demand" is very memorable because the entire thing is sung, simply.

"Ghosts of Past Failures" has a melodic guitar riff in the verse and chorus and is simply an amazing song (gets stuck in my head all the time )

"Those who cannot speak" has a distinct Thrashy feel, so thats what makes it memorable.

Theres more but I didn't feel like listing them. See what I mean?

I like what drives the weak.... I thought it was one of the best songs on the album. I loved the part near the end before it plays the same thing as the beginning where they do that bend thing that sounds awesome
