wouldn't being on drugs make the song better?

Dude I've heard this a million times (just not recently). There are some classics on here but the majority of this is uninspired. It's not a bad record per se; just not nearly as good as Jar, Dirt and Face.

Yeah this is their best work next to Dirt and Facelift

The kids around here have only just discovered Alice in Chains recently due to the crappy Black Gives

Way To Blue

This is their only album (in my opinion) that flows seamlessly from beginning to end. No filler, no

bullshit

i don't think there's as much filler on here as many seem to think, but there are a few throwaway tracks on here.

Haha! I know we don't see eye to eye on this one and BGWTB Dominion, and I've been jamming this lately and realise my original opinion may have been too harsh. But it still feels like a it's a little bit undercooked by AiC standards.

to me, it's just a very bleak record. the lyrics aren't as "heavy" as they are on dirt, but they're darker. and the guitars are sludgier. the album just gives a sense of impending doom.

But the songs aren't as concisely written. They tend to just meander and not have the same kind of focus and impact as Dirt. It's not bad, just not as good as AiC's other stuff.

Yup. Over Now too. The guitar solo is sweet, but just doesn't go anywhere.

yeah, they probably could've shaved a couple minutes off of each of those tracks, but theyre still good tracks. and songs like brush away, god am, and head creeps are great.
