Aja gets all the love, and no doubt it's pure ear candy, but I think it's a little too slick, a little too perfect, a little too sterile. TRS, on the other hand, is dark, edgy, and guitar driven. Hell, even smooth jazz Larry Carlton lets er rip! That's a righteous solo on the beginning of DTMA. Great lyrics, great music, and the title track is interesting.
The Royal Scam is IMHO the best Steely Dan album.
