I bought this album today and is nothing short of terrible. I have listened to it once and dont wanna listen to it again.
you have to give it a chance. that's what's so loveable about it.
songs like "The World Looks Red" and "Kill Yr Idols" are good to start on.
...but shes getting wrinkly now

Exactly, she's in very good shape for her age.
Back to relevant topics: I need more SY albums. I only have three :upset: Next I'm getting Dirty.

I've got Sister, Daydream Nation, and Nurse (even my mom likes that album). I want Confusion too, I want to hear what they sounded like 20 years ago (and with real tunings). It's embarrassing I have so few, as they are among my favorite bands.

if you get Confusion, you wont be disappointed. as long as you can appreciate it's "outlandish"-ness. just be ready for something really different, and give the album some time.

That's what I expected every SY album I have bought, and not one has disappointed me.

Wow confusion has grown on me so much its one of my faveourite albums. I love the dark vibe to it. Shaking hell, shes in a bad mood, the world looks red, freezer burn, kill yr idols are just some of my faveourites. If no one minds ill do a reveiw on it.
Confusion is sex is like a big barrier, listen to it, get used to it and you'll enjoy sonic youth a whole more.
PS ive been on the forums a lot less because i found another im on a lot.

Damn you Kaden i was going to post that. anyway i agree with you this CD is awesome! Androgynous mind is a cool song but it kinda hurts my ears after awhile, not that its bad just all those sounds that keep coming in out of now where and fade away into the song. in the mind of the Bourgeouis reader, waist, Self Obsessed and Sexxee, and bull in the heather are probably my favorites it's my first sonic youth album to own but i borrowed Dirty for awhile from my bro-in-law. anyway i really want to get sonic nurse i have heard most of the songs on it and it is amazing i think.

I wish my Sonic Youth reviews would get this many comments. :upset:

Man this is by far and away the weakest Sonic Youth album that I've ever heard. Most of these songs sound like they were written in about ten minutes, both Thurston and Kim sound like they are dying from boredom.

Yes, this is easily Sonic Youth's worst album. The first few songs are good, especially "Winner's Blues", but everything else is a heaping pile of uninspired drivel. It also lacks a Lee song. Blasphemy.
Oh, and Butch Vig can die.

But he produced Nevermind. You know. Nirvana.
|
| |
I really like Bull in the Heather, but I have no need for this album at the moment.
Edit: Yeah, but Albini produced In Utero, the better Nirvana CD.
But he produced Nevermind. You know. Nirvana.
He produced Dirty by Sonic Youth also, and I think the first Smashing Pumpkins albums. And he's in Garbage.
And sadly that band is the perfect summary of everything Vig has touched.

I haven't heard this, but I read all of Sister was played underneath the actual album or something.
