‘Sam’s Town’ would not get as much $hit as it does if Flowers had not crapped on about Springsteen & how this LP was going to be a “classic”. And while it does not quite match The Killers’ debut ‘Hot Fuss’, it’s a much different record since the Las Vegas quartet replace British new-wave with arena rock Americana. It gets a little too precious & theatrical at times, but it’s relatively consistent & someone has finally realised that track ordering is important. Plus, ‘When You Were Young’ is a song of the year contender. Recommended Tracks: When You Were Young, For Reasons Unknown, This River Is Wild & Read My Mind.

Well it's The Killers best album imo, much more mature than Hot Fuss and a lot less hit or miss (although I'd have to say The Killers best songs are on Hot Fuss).
