NY has great water, so

How far north, like Aurora and New Market? Because then I can understand that haha.
|

Ahhhh, no wonder man. Yeah the water there tastes terrible. I work in Aurora, so we only use water coolers for drinking.
I am in east Toronto, not quite downtown, so I can't say for sure about their water but I can't imagine it's as bad as Aurora's

Y'all gonna hate but I don't enjoy this one as much as I expected. It's one of the most influential metal albums and well over a decade ahead of its time, but I just can't stand the relentless, repetitive chugging staccato guitar patterns on this. The big grooves they are known for are non-existent here, and the guitar solos are indistinguishable from each other and a shadow of what they would become. This is probably bottom 3 for me, I know that's blasphemy. Future Breed Machines, Terminal Illusions, Suffer In Truth, and Sublevels rule though. Acrid Placidity is an awesome interlude, I wish they would incorporate more of that type of melody. The remaster sounds really nice but I have not heard the bonus Japanese bonus tracks, I should get on that.

I mean I love this album but I'm debating putting this at a 4.5
Definitely not anywhere near my favorite Meshuggah album and I don't know why this is widely considered their best (other than that it was the first Meshuggah sounding album they released)

I assume it's because most older fans heard this on release date and it was their first exposure. It makes sense, this would have been mind blowing at the time.
